It's been a while

So I think my last blog post touched on the fact that I had to start a blog for university so I may not be posting on here as much.. and that turned out to be very true!

The blogs for uni have to be weekly entries and cover everything we've done in the week, which was fun at first but started to become more and more tedious on top of all the other work we needed to do.

So I want to start posting on here again, keeping this one pretty personal so I can still enjoy blogging like I had began to when I started this. I'll have to work out balancing both blogs later!

So obviously I've done a lot of work since but I'm just gonna cut to this past week because I can't be bothered to go back over all the uni projects!

First painting of 2015
So my first painting of 2015 was a Sansa Stark study! I was hellbent on getting the likeness and the colours right, so I decided to use a grid-ish method. I hated the thought of it for ages but I need to utilise everything if I expect to learn and it made my outcome better so its okay!

Khal Drogo WIP
Keeping with the Game of Thrones theme I started a Khal Drogo painting and also decided to try out streaming using a site called picarto.tv/ which is a free streaming site for artists- this helps me to keep focused and to follow a painting through rather than give up after the first five minutes.

I also started a Mucha copy- it was going to be a study but I just enjoyed copying it as its quite theraputic!

I really want to start some of my own concepts now that I'm becoming more and more confident in my digital painting- I'm kinda running out of excuses not to. Its still quite intimidating but I need to remind myself that "Rome wasn't built in a day" and things made out of my head aren't going to look as good as my copies of photos straight away.

My channel is: https://www.picarto.tv/live/channel.php?watch=HazelTheHobbit - if anybody wants to subscribe/follow, you get an email whenever I'm online :)
