Herbert James Draper (partial) study

Easter holidays are hardly a holiday since they involve me coming home from uni and all manner of things happening. I wanted to set myself a personal project so I could practice my concepting skills outside of uni projects (I'll cover that later)

I always have time for painting naked ladies though it seems... I'm clearly not the only person as all these masters will show!

Still can't nail the colour

 I've dabbled in the other personal project I started too but I'm really having difficulty nailing the colours.. I think I may need to venture from the flat colours and work into them a bit because so far they all look way too cartoony.

Moodboard for my other personal project

My new personal project is a 18th century French fashion future. So basically, the future which has reverted almost entirely back to this flamboyant fashion. Although it wasn't directly inspired by the Hunger Game's Capitol I can see similarities. Since I'm going on visual design rather than original project ideas I think I should be okay!

I'm challenging myself to design (almost) every aspect of this 'world' so I will be working on interior/architecture/environment as well as character and costume. So far so good! I hope I'll have a fancy dinner hall to show off soon!
