I did what I said I would and it turned out okay!
16:37I mentioned in my last post that I wanted to incorporate some creativity into my studies, since a lot of my 'studies' were mindless copies.
I first saw the dress on pinterest and adored it. My initial reaction to most things I find visually appealing is 'I want to paint that'. So I decided if I was gonna paint it I was gonna have to put somebody wearing it into the equation and I'm so pleased I did!
Although at the moment painting people feels a bit of a cheat for me at the moment (I should really be focusing on environments as they're my weakest area) it's always nice to do something within my comfort zone to remind myself I can produce good work.
Saying this though, I'm only in my first year of university I have noticed a considerable difference in my character abilities (or at least people drawing) than any of my other work, so I'm thinking about knuckling down and improving this twice over rather than spending time trying to do paint things I'm not so strong at. Or in knowing that my characters are strong focus now on environment in the time I have at uni?
Really not sure so I'll see how it goes for now!
