Updates, Narnia, art block and the end of my first year at uni!

'The creation of Narnia' illustration
It's been a very busy past couple of weeks- lots of essays, presentations and final projects to finish and hand in for the end of my first year doing Game Art at DMU. A year already?! I can definitely say coming to uni has been one of the best things I could have done for myself.

But onto this illustration! I've been re-reading the Narnia series of books and I was particularly enchanted when I read how Aslan creates Narnia- there's something so lovely about the whole thing. I've clearly wanted to do more creative and original pieces so I figured Narnia would be a good project to work on!

I'm not as pleased as I hoped I would be with my painting but I can definitely see what I need to focus on and improve so fingers crossed this project will be a good learning curve for me- next up I'm redesigning Queen Jadis which is much more in my comfort zone.

After finishing uni, going home for a little bit and then coming straight back I've found myself stuck with the worst art block I've had in a while; I just can't seem to focus on anything or even want to paint/draw. Its incredibly frustrating especially when I've got so many projects I want to start working on.

Deciding I wasn't going to be completely unproductive I've re-jigged a lot of my social media and art platforms so they're all looking semi-professional and slightly more presentable... so now I need to do art to fill them up! Fingers crossed this block will pass and I'll get a wriggle on and be uploading and writing most days!
