Day 2 Study! Focusing on colour and mood. Albert Bierstadt seems to use quite a lot of black in his paintings (well it looks black on every photo I've seen- may not be in real life?) especially in the foreground creating a silhouette effect on his trees; they really help organise the foreground, midground and background which is something I seem to struggle with in my own paintings it seems.. A fun study!

Also continuing with the animal sketches came this horse (with a focus on muscles). Thinking I might need to combine these with scientific muscle studies too to help me understand them better!
