I like to think that doing studies inbetween some creative pieces really helps me nail what I need to improve on. Although the spectrum this time around is a little broad, I'm kinda deciding that I actually want to focus on my technique for a while and the easiest way (for me at least) is to work from photos.


I started out doing these loose knight studies when I started to take more of an interest in armour (check out my instagram: @HazelTheHobbit) to see other studies I've been doing. Although the loose style I used in these encouraged me to work on that more.


I'm such a big fan of artists who do really messy(?) impressionist-style works but also those who do really refined and detailed pieces, so finding a good balance for myself would be fantastic!
